FLEXOR TENDON INJURIES IN THE HAND

Abstract
Flexor tendon injures in the hand are among the most potentially serious and troublesome problems a surgeon is called upon to treat. The results of their surgical treatment are highly variable and relatively, if not absolutely, unpredictable with regard to an individual case. They often result in severe and permanent functional disability. The postoperative care of such injuries requires the continuing and at the most attention to detail on the part of the surgeon, and unfailing and untiring effort on the part of the pt. in performing arduous active exercises often for many months. Authors hope that any unified and logical approach to the management of flexor tendon injuries must be established. So, authors reviewed clinical data of 269 pts, treated with various methods at 10 university hospitals in Korea.
